Registration Requirements
- All dancers must be registered for the full The Solo Summit event in order to participate.
- Competition entries must be submitted in advance through the official online registration system.
- Onsite registration is not available.
Studio Affiliation & Independent Registration
- Studios wishing to have soloists perform in a designated studio block must register under an official studio name.
- Independent (unaffiliated) entries are permitted.
Solo Entry Policy & Fees
- Each dancer may enter one (1) solo for a fee of $200.
- A second solo may be entered for an additional fee of $220.
Routine Categories & Props
- Categories include, but are not limited to:
- Ballet
- Jazz
- Hip-Hop
- Lyrical
- Acro
- Pom
- Open
- Musical Theater
- Ballroom
- Large props are not permitted.
Performance Time Limits
- A 15-second grace period is permitted for stage entry and exit.
- Routine performance times are strictly enforced.
- Solo performances must not exceed 2 minutes and 45 seconds.
Music Requirements
- All studios and independent soloists must upload music online by the designated deadline.
- Music containing profanity or inappropriate content is prohibited and may result in the music being stopped.
- Dancers must bring backup music for each routine.
Judging
- Each routine is evaluated by a panel of qualified judges.
- Direct communication with judges is not permitted.
- Routines are scored based on:
- Technique
- Execution
- Performance Quality
- Choreography
- Overall Difficulty
Sportsmanship & Conduct
- All participants, instructors, and spectators are expected to demonstrate respectful behavior and good sportsmanship at all times.
- Audience photography and videography during performances is prohibited.
- Professional photos and videos will be provided free of charge through the DanceBug app.
General Event Conduct
- The Solo Summit and host venues are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal items.
- The event is not responsible for injuries sustained during participation.
- Dancers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.
Rule Changes
- Rules and regulations are subject to change each season.
- Studios and participants are responsible for reviewing the most current version prior to the event.
